Besides just seeing the message, the jail lost ping, and died during ssh...

nve0: device timeout (1)
nve0: link state changed to DOWN
nve0: link state changed to UP

Problem reported and patch available here, but instead...

cd /usr/src/sys/dev/nve
ftp sources.freebsd.org (anonymous,email,etc)
cd /pub/FreeBSD/sources/RELENG_6/src/sys/dev/nve/
mget *

cd /usr/src
make -DNOCLEAN buildkernel KERNCONF=CUSTOM
make installkernel KERNCONF=CUSTOM
